The Saudis, too, are neocons, apparently: The Bahraini king's "plea was shared by many of America's Arab allies, including the powerful King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia, who according to another cable repeatedly implored Washington to 'cut off the head of the snake' while there was still time."

Would a nuclear Iran liberate these Arab Shiites and sieze the oil? Would they stop there, when they could make a move of the 2 holy cities? Bahrain is a Shiite country dominated by a Wahhabi royal family and ruling elite. Depending on the source it is 2/3 or 3/4 Shi’ite. The members of the Al Khalifa royal family are terrified of the Iranian regime. This has nothing to do with Jerusalem or Washington. This is about power 1300 year old conflict within Islam.
