The administration's foreign policy, especially in the Middle East, is the preserve of the neocons.. They’re still sulking over the Turkish Grand National Assembly's refusal to allow the stationing of American troops during the run-up to last year's Iraq war. (Wolfowitz's brazen incitement to the Turkish army to defy the elected Turkish government showed what the American slogan for the democratization of the Middle East is about: a ruse to change inconvenient Muslim regimes.)
