The Secret Relationship Between Israel and Oil: What the U. S. Media Hides by Wendy Campbell

The article in the Wall Street Journal dated September 21, 2004, that rankled me into finally writing this article which has been brewing in my mind for some time was one by Jeffrey Ball entitled "As Prices Soar, Doomsayers Provoke Debate on Oil's Future". The sub-title was: "In a 1970's echo, Dr. Campbell (no relation to me!) Warns Supply Is Drying Up, but Industry Isn't Worried".

Now let me explain to you that I have already come to the conclusion a while ago that this controversy about the 'shortage of oil' is being pushed forward by mostly pro-Israel forces for their own narrow agenda that has nothing to do with the vast majority of the American people's interests.

Even in this article, it is explained that: "Dr. Campbell is at the center of a small but suddenly influential band of contrarians known as the 'peak oil movement'".

Ms. Campbell's article has numerous truths in it taken to the extreme. Looking at the collapse of the Bush Administration, one recognizes immediately the brilliant diagnosis of EJ Dionne in the WashPost: "America has taken a long vacation from complexity." It would be a shame if, in trying to rectify this flaw, Ms. Campbell did much the same.

First of all, I agree that we do not need Israel. But our support for Israel is due to AIPAC activities in Congress not to Israel's domination of US media (though the Wall Street Journal is a neocon rag). And MOST Jews are not Zionists. Sure they feel empathy for Israel, as many like me do. But they do not want it mastering the Mideast, rather, they, like me, want it integrated peacefully in it. Of course, this cannot be so long as some in Israel are drunk on the idea that through the neocons it can bend America's will to its own. The unspoken principle is: if it's good for Israel, IT'S GOT TO BE GOOD for America!

The neocons are old line Bolsheviks who may have switched sides but not mind set. They made a Stalinist United Front From Above coalition with the Calvinist Fascist pseudo-Christians who believe that Israeli dominance of the Mideast is a prerequisite to the return of Jesus (some 40% of US voters) and used that alliance to put Rumsfeld and Cheney in power (ventriloquists hiding behind dummy profligate dry-drunk Bush, supposedly "saved" by Jesus). To Rummy, they had promised the presidency, assuring him that Bush would be, like his "poppy," a one term president. In the meantime, they advised: FINISH OFF IRAQ, Rummy, and campaign as a war hero. His troll Cheney was to be the enforcer of that plan as they have an illusion that old Dick is a master Wash DC manipulator.

Whatever you say about Wolfowitz, he is not a company man. He is not for Israel mastering the Mideast and was pelted with eggs at a Support Israel Rally in 2002 when he called for justice to the Palestinians. And, to dilute him out, Rummy filled DoD with neocons.

Amongst American Jews there is a terribly guilty conscience for their silence when FDR blocked access to German Jewish refugees. Thinking of themselves only, out of fear, American Jews kept quiet. This the Zionists exploited to the fullest and parleyed that guilt feeling into support for Israel. But that support does not go as far as the "Zionazis" of Likud wanted it to. So the once red neocons found in Bush a final opportunity for a testosterone surge by starting, through him, "World War IV"-- Israel's oil need was for them besides the point. Israel buys its oil on the global market (though it has massive commercial relation with the Arabs), and given the outrageous $4-6 billions it gets yearly from the US, that's the least of its problems.

But you can't blame the Iraq War on Israel. For even Netanyahu had doubts about it. It was purely a chain of old neocon farts thinking that this was their last chance at manhood. Do not underestimate the pathological personalization of policy by politicos!

By his second term, Bush decided that he had enough "political capital" to takeover his own administration. Last week TIME asked Cheney if Bush planned to bomb Iran. Cheney replied: "I DON'T KNOW WHAT THE PRESIDENT INTENDS TO DO. But I think...." Do not miss the importance of those words. Cheney is no longer on top and has not been since Jan. 2005. Finally, now you have the Poppy Bush Team trying to bail Bush out of his own Bushit!

But that Cheney worked out a deal with the oil magnates in 2002 for them to take-over Iraqi oil there is no doubt. However, Americans, no matter what big guns they have, cannot cope with the Arab willingness to die avenging victims. America in the hands of its least mentally competent-- all seeking a testosterone surge to feel like mensch-- has made a criminal mess of Iraq. But the 9/11 spirit has dried up and now you hear the Baker-Hamilton Commission saying everything but that Bush is a moron. Even the Republican Party is not featuring Iraq on its Web site. The reason is that greedy idiots always lose to suicidal maniacs. alQaeda and the Sunni fanatics have pushed the Shia into standing up to US domination. As the neocons looked to Iran as a target, it all got to be too much. The American voters-- who suffer from the "ain't my kid going to Iraq" disconnect syndrome-- finally have had enough. The idea of expanding the war to Iran is out.

But the neocons have wrought much calamity on Americans Jewry. You see, while the neocons and the pseudo-Christian Fascists could make common cause on foreign affairs, the domestic goal of these Calvinist Fascists: A TOTALLY CHRISTIAN AMERICA, is anathema to the secular neocons. So the neocons were in the forefront of defeat of "intelligent design" imposition on high school biology school books-- the first step in the Christian Right's domestic agenda. As the Christian Right faces both the perversity and the corruption of its leaders, it also faces its total fall from power because Catholics have broken away from them. To stay in their lucrative posts, the "pastors" need to blame someone. And, you guessed it, the blame will be screamed out unequivocally: "the damned Jews made me do it....they deceived us all!" It would not be the first time that the right turns anti-Semitic in order to cover its degeneracy. As a result, we will have to fight back a terrible but familiar wave of anti-Jewish propaganda that once was part of their anti-liberal campaign.

Given that the neocons are a fringe nut group that proliferates in paper organizations, think-tanks and publications to hide that they are so few they are incestuous, it would not be fair for the mass majority (~87%) of Jews-- whom the neocons dismiss as "self-hating Jews"-- to suffer from the dire consequences to America of the neocon deals with the war industry, or Rumsfeld's and Cheney's surge of testosterone, all life-long gilry-men trying to feel like he-men at least once before they die of old age as chicken-hawks.

We cannot assume great sinister strategic thinking and attribute it to mere avarice. Israel is an outrageous drain on America, I admit, but it is not the cause of our, in the words of EJ Dionne: "Long vacation from complexity." Neocon search for manhood, Rummy's chase of the presidency, Cheney's cynical corruption of mind and the neocon's short-term reckless cleverness have exploited a pompous moron and other "saved" dum-dums. But we the people elected that moron and we can't escape our responsibility by blaming it on the Jews. We are victims on our imperial oil avarice on the one hand and our lack of sense of citizenship and compassion for our National Guard neighbor on the other hand. Worst of all, this is the only nation I know of that supported Bush by sending its kids to war then supported Jihad by gassing up its SUVs. Had Bush made a JFKesque declaration on 9/11 that within 10 years America would become fossil fuel independent, we would be half way there by now. The $1 trillion that Iraq will end up costing us in the end would better have been spent on focusing science and engineering on fossil free fuel, as it was on getting man to the moon in the 60s, instead of on an imperial adventures to frighten Arabs. As we can see, they don't frighten that easily, they become suicidal instead!
