Neocons Defend Saudi Arabia

Much of the West is focused on the latest sectarian provocations by Saudi Arabia, such as the execution of Shiite leader Sheik Nimr Baqr al-Nimr followed by the formal breaking of diplomatic relations with Iran in uber-retaliation for the attack on the kingdom’s embassy in Tehran. Now the Saud family has again become their dearest friend. No less remarkable is how those fearless defenders of Western values and democratic governance are rallying in defense of an absolute monarchy and the undisputed and deep-pocketed leader of the counter-revolution against the reformist movements of the “Arab Spring.”

Scholar Kevin Barrett: Neocon-Zionists' false flag attacks meant to stir up Islam and West tensions

False flag attacks were carried out in Paris - the capital of world secularism -- last year in order to stir up a strategy of tensions pitting Islam against the West, and because the French youth are turning against Zionism and supporting the Palestinians, an American scholar and researcher says.

Neocons Object to Syrian Democracy

The Washington Post’s editorial board is livid that President Barack Obama appears to have accepted the Russian position that the Syrian people should decide for themselves who their future leaders should be – when the Post seems to prefer that the choice be made by neoconservative think tanks in Washington or other outsiders.

So, in a furious editorial on Friday, the Post castigated Secretary of State John Kerry for saying – after a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow – that the Obama administration and Russia see the political solution to Syria “in fundamentally the same way,” meaning that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad could stand for election in the future.

Trump was referring to the Obama administration's campaign to overthrow Arab dictators like Libya's Qaddafi and Egypt's Mubarak, which contributed to the chaos in the Middle East after the so-called "Arab Spring." Marco Rubio can't attack Hillary's disastrous foreign policy record because--as Ted Cruz observes--Rubio supported all the same stupid policies. Picture a Cruz-Clinton presidential debate: Cruz denounces Hillary's incompetence in promoting chaos in the Middle East. Hillary remonstrates, "But most Republicans supported me!" Cruz counters: "That's right--I'm running against you and against the Establishment in my own party." Game, set, match.

Yes, an ‘over-reach’

After the fall of the Soviet Union, neoconservatives were among the first to proclaim the joys, the challenges and the opportunities of a “unipolar world.” The “center” of world power was now the United States, Charles Krauthammer wrote in a special 1990-91 issue of Foreign Affairs. The United States, he said, was “the only country with the military, diplomatic, political and economic assets to be a decisive player in any conflict in whatever part of the world it chooses to involve itself.”

As provocative as Krauthammer’s essay was, the most distinctive neocon anthem appeared in the July/August 1996 issue of Foreign Affairs.

William Kristol and Robert Kagan said that the United States had the duty and the power to, in effect, police the world: “American hegemony is the only reliable defense against a breakdown of peace and international order. The appropriate goal of American foreign policy, therefore, is to preserve that hegemony as far into the future as possible.”

Neocon presidential aspirant Senator Lindsey Graham is part of Washington’s lunatic fringe. He urges an American-led regional ground force invasion of Syria, adding: “Under no circumstances would I work with (Putin) and the Iranians regarding Syria if the price to fight ISIL (is) to keep (Assad) in power.”

He equates ISIS with Nazi Germany and Assad with imperial Japan, claiming “(i)f you don’t fight Syria, Lebanon and Jordan are going to fall…(Y)ou can never fix Iraq, (and) they’re going to hit us here at home. (It’s almost) 100 percent certain.”
