Max Boot wants to retire 'neocon' label. Why doesn’t he stop using 'isolationist?'

The Washington Post’s Max Boot wants to “retire the ‘neocon’ label” because he believes it unfairly tarnishes the hawkish political elite who got America into the Iraq War and who have literally pushed for every war since. Boot claims national security adviser John Bolton doesn’t deserve to be called a neocon. Neither does former Vice President Dick Cheney. Nor does he.
Boot says “Neoconservatism" once had a real meaning — “back in the 1970s” when it was applied to ex-liberals who had drifted right but claims “the label has now become meaningless.”

Who’s After Golan Heights Riches?

A planned push by U.S. senators to recognize Israel’s claim to the Golan Heights hides an effort by rich, powerful neocons and their Israeli backers to seize energy riches from what international law declares is part of Syria.

Empire Of Absurdity: Recycled Neocons, Recycled Enemies

There are times when I wish that the United States would just drop the charade and declare itself a global empire.

As a veteran of two imperial wars, a witness to the dark underside of America’s empire-denial, I’ve grown tired of the equivocation and denials from senior policymakers. The U.S. can’t be an empire, we’re told, because – unlike the Brits and Romans – America doesn’t annex territories outright, and our school children don’t color its colonies in red-white-and-blue on cute educational maps.

Did Neocons Sabotage North Korea Deal?

President Donald Trump’s second summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in late February was criticized by both parties in Washington long before Air Force One even touched down in Hanoi. Washington’s political class seemed terrified that the nearly 70-year state of “war” with North Korea might actually end. In the end the only positive thing they could say about the meeting was that Trump apparently walked away with nothing to show for it.

It’s back to the future with Venezuelan ‘Contras,’ the neocons, and the CIA

The smuggling of U.S. weapons to Venezuelan rebels has evoked memories of Elliott Abrams’s antics during the Iran-Contra scandal in the 1980s. CIA contract airlines, including Southern Air Transport, were busy illegally flying U.S. weapons to Honduras and, via air drop, over Nicaragua, for use by the U.S.-backed Nicaraguan Contra guerrillas. One thing about neocons like Abrams and Trump National Security Adviser John Bolton is that they rarely divert from their standard playbooks. Neocons, not being very bright to begin with, find it difficult to “think outside the box,” therefore they repeat the same failed policies and maneuvering over and over again. And that is the clinical diagnosis of insanity.

On Bolton’s orders, US ambassadors chastise governments

US National Security Adviser John Bolton may be known for a lot of things, but “diplomat” is not one of them. In 2005, Bolton was never confirmed by the US Senate to be George W. Bush’s ambassador to the United Nations because the walrus-mustachioed neoconservative ideologue had made past comments deriding the UN as a useless organization. In 1994, Bolton infamously said, “There is no United Nations. There is an international community that occasionally can be led by the only real power left in the world, and that’s the United States, when it suits our interests and when we can get others to go along… The [UN] Secretariat Building in New York has 38 stories. If you lost ten stories today, it wouldn’t make a bit of difference.”

The Neocon Revival

The upending of the political landscape by the Trump revolution has affected every political grouping and rearranged our politics in ways that are still revealing themselves. His populist America First views on foreign policy and international trade have split the GOP, opened up growing divisions among the Democrats, and even disrupted the ideological certitude of the libertarians.

US ‘Regime Change’ in Venezuela: Fake, Fake, Fake!

Hey wait a minute – the neocon faction? There isn’t supposed to be any such thing! If you recall Trump explicitly attacked the neocons in his first foreign policy speech. Why is he appointing his mortal enemies?

And they are indeed his enemies: Elliott Abrams denounced him as unfit to be President and compared him to George McGovern – a dangerous isolationist whose followers must be driven out of the Republican Party.

Trump has a Neocon Problem. How to solve it?

Pompeo’s ‘Pandora’s Box’

Neo-conservatives always tend to take advantage of situations to fill political power vacuums and as Trump’s administration has been rocked by one scandal after another, war mongers and regime change activists like Pompeo, Bolton, and now, Abrams, have grabbed key positions within the Trump administration. On January 25, Pompeo announced that Abrams was being appointed as the special envoy overseeing US policy toward Venezuela. But that announcement came after Pompeo, Bolton, Abrams, and Pence had secret meetings with Guaido in mid-December 2018 in Washington to coordinate regime change activities to force Maduro from office after his January inauguration. Guaido also traveled in December to Brazil and Colombia to hold secret meetings with Bolsonaro, still the president-elect, and Duque. Guaido clandestinely crossed the border into Colombia, from where he traveled to the United States and Brazil. It was also disclosed that Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau discussed Venezuela with Duque on January 26.

Bolton Threatens to Send Venezuela’s Maduro to Guantánamo Bay Prison

National Security Adviser John Bolton—the neoconservative who’s played a key role in the Trump administration’s effort to overthrow the Venezuelan government—suggested on Friday that President Nicolás Maduro could find himself locked away in the U.S. military prison at the Guantánamo Bay Naval Station in Cuba if he does not soon step aside.

RULERS HATE THEIR OWN PEOPLES

The great crime that was 9/11 was conceived and initiated by a matrix encompassing and (politically) led by the NeoCon think-tank that called itself the "Project for the New American Century". This organisation published a document entitled "Rebuilding America's Defences" in which it openly recommended that the USA should pursue "total global military domination". The document also said that attending to such a goal would be difficult without, "... some catastrophic and catalysing event - like a new Pearl Harbour."

Former Bush Mideast Adviser named U.S. special envoy for Venezuela

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced on Friday that Elliott Abrams will be the State Department’s special envoy for dealing with the crisis in Venezuela. Abrams was a senior Middle East adviser in George W. Bush’s White House, and also worked for the Republican administrations of George H.W. Bush and Ronald Reagan.

Abrams is considered a foreign policy hawk, and one of the most prominent members of the “neo-Conservative” school of thought. During the 2016 Republican primary, he opposed the nomination of Donald Trump, and stated that Trump wasn’t worthy of leading the party of Reagan and Abraham Lincoln. These statements led Trump to veto an attempt by the previous Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson, to appoint Abrams to a senior State Department position in 2017.

Elliot Abrams Leads Regime Change In Venezuela

Pompeo announced on Friday that Abrams, neocon Jewish warmonger, has joined the State Department team to “restore democracy” in Venezuela and “assist the people” in achieving the outcome that “America wants them to achieve.”

It’s one thing to restore democracy and quite another to assist people who already have it.

The War on Free Speech Escalates: The American Arrest of Press TV Anchor Marzieh Hashemi

This level of desperation and lawlessness indicates that the desire of the Zionist New World Order Beast to facilitate a war with Iran and possibly Putin’s Russia, now knows no boundaries.  In conjunction with the employment of the MEK to assassinate Iranian scientists on Iranian soil, the illegitimate cancellation of the P5+1 deal with Iran, the subsequent illegitimate imposition of economic sanctions on that country, and the employment of ISIS and Al-Qaeda terrorists in Syria against the Assad regime, the Marzieh Hashemi arrest and detention suggests 2019 will bring a level of escalation against the Tehran government by the Netanyahu government in Israel and Jewish Neo-Conservatives in the United States to the brink of actually achieving the war they have desired for so long.

Curious Bedfellows: The Neocon and Progressive Alliance to Destroy Donald Trump

The neoconservatives lined up behind Hillary Clinton in 2016, appalled by Donald Trump’s condemnation of their centerpiece war in Iraq and even more so by his pledge to end the wars in Asia and nation-building projects while also improving relations with the Russians. They worked actively against the Republican candidate both before he was nominated and elected and did everything they could to stop him, including libeling him as a Russian agent.

Return of the Neocons!

Neoconservatives, the architects of the War on Terror, are the political version of Jason in Friday the 13th: You can never bank on them being completely dead. They just hide under a log until the next funder appears.
The neocon media tribune, the Weekly Standard, did indeed fold recently. In no time they had a new voice: The Bulwarkedited by former Weekly Standard and current NBC/MSNBC contributor Charlie Sykes, with Weekly Standard founder Bill Kristol listed as “editor at large.”

NeoCons Test Drive Newest Weapon to Crush Indie Media, Put MintPress in Their Crosshairs

MINNEAPOLIS —  A recently founded venture claiming to be “a news rating agency” is making its big breakout in 2019 by claiming to be an authority at the forefront in the fight against “fake news.” Newsguard — which describes itself as an organization dedicated to “restoring trust and accountability” and using “journalism to fight false news, misinformation, and disinformation” — has begun targeting independent and alternative media organizations, including MintPress News, with a questionnaire developed to frame its victims as being on the political fringe and lacking professionalism and journalistic integrity in order to rank them as “unreliable” news sites.

Trump’s Neocons Reverse His Syria Withdrawal Plan

I’m starting to wonder whether President Trump has any power over US foreign policy at all. Many people believe that the US president is just a figurehead, with actual foreign policy firmly in the hands of the deep state. Trump’s latest dramatic U-turn on pulling troops from Syria certainly feeds such theories.

Farewell to the Poisoned Dwarf and Four Pizzas

The demise of The Weekly Standard was a pleasure, not because I like to see print magazines go down the drain—to the contrary—but because of its parentage, William Kristol and John Podhoretz. These two unpleasant neocons are known as the “Poisoned Dwarf” and “Four Pizzas,” respectively, and rarely have I seen two bigger con men get away with more stuff than this pair. They are smarmy, loquacious, and incompetent except for self-promotion, and were the movers and cheerleaders for the worst foreign-policy decision Uncle Sam has made, with the possible exception of Vietnam. They, of course, have never apologized but insist to this day that going to war to ensure the safety of Likud is good for America.

Pulling troops out Syria and Afghanistan suggests expectation of conflict with Russia or China against whom those forces would have little chance of survival

While it is a good thing to pull US forces out of Syria and Afghanistan, the move would also be what a president would do if he were about to begin hostilities against Russia. Why the sudden seeing reason on pulling out, when he could have done this any time in the last two years? John Bolton remains national security advisor. He is still surrounded by Neo-cons. The president might be bringing the troops home for the right reasons. He has gone wrong on foreign policy before. We don’t have the whole picture. Bolton created an international incident with China while Trump was talking with Xi Jinping and did not tell Trump that it was being done. Bolton is a man pushing a president into war.

Neocon Jews Behind Chinese Tech Exec Arrest

These last few days we have seen a masterfully-played hand by China, against the foolish decision of Canadian authorities to play along with a US neocon and 'Israel first' game against China.

Canada's arbitrary arrest of a leading Chinese citizen, Huawei executive Ms Meng Wanzhou, at the request of USA neocons acting behind the back of US President Trump, was an act of pure political malice, violating a number of principles of international law.

Trump pushed to war by independent acting Neo-con State Dept & Bolton

The biggest threat is that Rothschild interests will provoke a new war — they are already trying to do so by arresting one of China’s top business people over trading with Iran — which of course China is free to do — and this came from the communist state department and the National Security Adviser AND TRUMP DIDN’T EVEN KNOW ABOUT IT — (Bolton said Trump didn’t now about it, and in this alone he is telling the truth. Trump was negotiating with Xi on trade terms when this was done. The international Establishment is looking to solve it’s populist problem through war. Trudeau is of course sided with the Rothschild agents in the Bush administration, with full knowledge that it was an act against “good Trump” and the people for national sovereignty and populist economy.

Trump Has Been Broken by the Military/Security Complex

In order to protect himself from the military/security complex, President Trump has abandoned his intention of normalizing relations with Russia. Just as the neoconservative ideology needs US hegemony, the military/security complex needs an enemy to justify the $1,000 billion annual budget. The Clinton, George W. Bush, and Obama regimes have crafted Russia into that enemy. Trump intended to change that, but he has been prevented.
