If nationalists won't have libertarians, they'll get neoconservatives
It is true that many conventional Republicans today at least pay lip service to Trump’s noninterventionist “America First” foreign policy, but is it because these Republicans are true believers in restraint, or simply because the president is popular back home and they feel compelled to go along with whatever he says? How many of these Republicans behaved the same way under President George W. Bush, showing unquestioning fealty to the GOP president their base loved, though Bush represented the antithesis of the foreign policy today’s nationalists seek?

With Their Demand for War, Neocons and Establishment Conservatives Will Destroy Conservatism
During the presidency of George W. Bush, conservatism as a political ideology became equated with military adventurism. This was mostly due to the Iraq War – a largely unnecessary war, that was started by neoconservatives and establishment types who thought they could "export" democracy and human rights. The war in Iraq was so unpopular that the Republican nominee in 2008 (the admittedly weak Senator John McCain) had little to no chance of winning. Conservatism as a brand was tarnished, it seems, beyond recovery.

Democrats & NeoCon Republicans = Stalinists & Trotskyists
A false left-right paradigm is essentially two opposing groups who give the illusion of hopelessly polarizing worldviews but in reality, they share common goals in the overall scope of things (such as the direction of our country towards a global system). Usually these groups disagree on smaller divisive matters, which maybe real, to manipulate and rally the public behind one side or the other. The basic idea behind this practice is to keep people divided, powerless, and to maintain overall influence within their sphere. The Roman Empire was experts at this tool and although they no longer physically rule, their concepts still live. The false paradigm masterfully uses important issues like abortion, gay marriage, entitlement programs, etc. to distract the masses while they bulldoze bills, executive orders, contracts, etc. that usually constrict our freedom and destroy the sovereignty of our country.

The Hypocrisy of Never Trump Neoconservatives
It’s easy to understand and even sympathize with those on the Right who are critical of Donald Trump’s presidency. But it’s really hard to stomach Never Trump neoconservatives who now complain about Republican tribalism, cults of personality, and blind loyalty to the current president—because virtually all of them used to engage in and endorse the very same behavior.

GOP hawks declare war on Trump
In interviews with POLITICO, leading GOP foreign-policy hands — many of whom promoted the Iraq War, detest Putin and consider Israel's security non-negotiable — said Trump would be a disaster for U.S. foreign policy and vowed never to support him. So deep is their revulsion that several even say they could vote for Hillary Clinton over Trump in November.
“Hillary is the lesser evil, by a large margin,” said Eliot Cohen, a former top State Department official under George W. Bush and a strategic theorist who argues for a muscular U.S. role abroad. Trump's election would be “an unmitigated disaster for American foreign policy," Cohen said, adding that "he has already damaged it considerably.”

A GOP Split on Neocon Orthodoxy
While five of the nine candidates (Marco Rubio, John Kasich, Jeb Bush, Carly Fiorina and Chris Christie) parroted the standard neocon talking points, four of them, including Trump and current Iowa frontrunner Ted Cruz, pushed back on the idea that the U.S. has been well served by toppling the regimes of Iraq’s Saddam Hussein and Libya’s Muammar Gaddafi.

Neocon Senate Republicans Join Democrats to Pass Mammoth Budget
During a rare after-midnight session on October 30, the Republican–controlled Senate voted 64 to 35 to pass the Bipartisan Budget Act of 2015, which began its life in the Republican-controlled House as H.R. 1314. The account of how outgoing House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) put together the budget by striking deals with members of the White House staff, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), and Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) was documented in an article posted by The New American on October 27.

Republican Senate takeover gives neocons, war hawks bully pulpit
Republican insiders say legislation already is in the works to pressure the White House into expanding the war against the Islamic State and increasing pressure on Russia and Iran, as the GOP takeover of the Senate provides neocons and war hawks with their first bully pulpit since the end of George W. Bush’s presidency.
While there will be pushback from isolationist voices in the party’s libertarian wing, it won’t take center stage, according to senior Republican congressional advisers
who say that after years of standing by while the Obama administration has pursued a “lead from behind” foreign policy, the GOP is now poised to push the White House toward a more decisive leadership posture on the world stage.

The GOP's Foreign Policy "Civil War"
I've argued on more than one occasion that while many of the intra-GOP factional fights described as representing a "civil war" are actually sub-ideological skirmishes over strategy, tactics and rhetoric, the divisions over foreign policy are real.
In a Bloomberg column, Ramesh Ponnuru offers an interesting counter-argument: yes, the foreign policy fights we are hearing about represent stark differences, but only between marginal libertarian and neocon factions; most Republicans fall somewhere in the middle, and GOP voters aren't really engaged on foreign policy issues anyway.

Neocon Watch: Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers’ Big Lie
Mrs. WC made WC listen to the entire Official Republican Response to President Obama’s State of the Union speech last week. This was the Official Response as delivered by U.S. Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers. That’s not to be confused with the other three or four Republican responses, the clearest sign yet of the shattered state of the G.O.P.
What made Rep. Rodgers’ speech so painful to hear was that it was almost entirely content-free. Lots of platitudes and feel good personal narratives; no ideas. But Rep. Rodgers did offer one substantive fact: one of her constituents, “Bette in Spokane,” faced a $700 a month health insurance premium increase “because of Obamacare.” The Spokane-based Spokesman-Review, not exactly a bastion of liberal journalism, tracked down “Bette in Spokane” and the full story is utterly different.

Allen West: Another neocon down for the count
Allen West is unable to answer simple questions about defense strategy and spending. He doesn't know what would happen if somebody attacked Russia. He doesn't know what would happen if somebody attacked us. He can't explain why we have to spend 12 times as much as any other country on defense spending. Watch this link that exposes his ignorance.
Allen West, fmr. Congressman, on defense spending. How much do we need to spend to be safe from attack?

CPAC: From GOP Fringe Group to Neocon Powerhouse
This year an estimated 8,000-10,000 participants converged on the annual meeting in Washington, D.C. of the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC). That’s a far cry from the several hundred folks—including this writer—who attended the 1979 CPAC meeting, back in the days CPAC was still considered a bit too “extreme” for the tastes of most Republicans.
But make no mistake about it: Even then, CPAC organizers (largely GOP loyalists) were certain to ban from their podium those conservatives who dared venture into verboten territory. This included those who talked about the Federal Reserve System, Zionist power or the influence of pressure groups such as the Council on Foreign Relations, the Trilateral Commission and Bilderberg.

Will Neocons ‘Tip Their Hand’ In Tampa, Or Remain In The Shadows?
This article will attempt to focus greater attention on an area of the current presidential campaign that has received very little notice and virtually no campaign advertising (which drives public opinion and the overall campaign debate): Foreign Policy and a Nuclear Iran. I believe, that with the upcoming Republican Convention (Hurricane Isaac permitting), we may well see an effort by Republicans to “change the subject” away from the Medicare and Abortion debates of late that have provided them little traction in the polls, which mostly show President Obama with a narrow nationwide lead and – electorally – in the nine swing states thought crucial in deciding the presidency in 2012.
I believe that Republican Vice Presidential Nominee, Paul Ryan may well become a central player in this campaign strategy shift and, more ominously, is slated to become a major Neocon player in a Romney Administration and possibly a succeeding Ryan Presidency in eight years. I note here and now that regardless of who wins the presidency in 2012, the prospects of yet another war in the Mideast within the next year are great…as a percentage proposition I would say perhaps 75-25 that a military conflict with Iran may be inevitable. Frightened yet? I know I am. I hope you will stay with me while I outline my concerns in this complex area of foreign intrigue and the rather sordid cast of “usual suspects” I attempt to shine a brighter light on. But first,…

Shameless NeoCons Still Running the GOP
A friend informs me that John Boehner has appointed Elliott Abrams to something called “the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom.” This tells us nothing — that is, that nothing has changed. That the Republican Establishment is still in the pocket of the Big Pentagon Money, and the serial liars, and the plunderers, and the self-dealers — and that the GOP Hot Tub Crowd is absolutely shameless.
Why? Listen to Boehner himself: “Elliott Abrams is an honorable public servant…”
Stop right there.

The path taken by the Republican Party
To achieve their goal of an American empire the neoconservatives need large amounts of money to fund their many wars. Thus, they make a coalition of their own with the corporate backers. The leader of such a coalition whether from the corporate world or a neocon will have to address the concerns of the other group on each and every matter. This opens up door of governmental access to corporate backers and frees up funds for the future wars planned by the neocons. This unholy coalition has led the Republican elite overtime to abandon the Kyoto protocol, start wars in Iraq and Libya, and give tax concessions to the super rich 1% of Americans, allowing shipping of jobs overseas, etc. It must be said that the neocons have taken over the Republican Party for the express purpose of availing the huge funds injected by the corporate backers. The funds were always there the damage has been caused by the neocons getting their hands on it. Thus, the Republican elite’s domestic policies are guided by their corporate interests and in return they are provided by the funds necessary for their illegitimate wars.
In the above arrangement the corporate will keep infusing funds to the neocons only if they continue to dictate Republican Party policy on issues affecting these corporate. For the neocons it was clear that to attract more funds for their wars they have to increase governmental intervention in various spheres of the life’s of their citizens. This meant increasing the role of the government.

Republican Presidential Win Would Give Free Rein To Neocon Ambitions of Empire
On Sunday, Mar.18, the Episcopalian priest and Reinhold Niebuhr Professor of Social Ethics at Union Theological Seminary and Columbia University, returned to a capacity crowd of over 500 people at First Presbyterian Church in Kalamazoo, a place that has opened its doors over the past decade to pray and observe the beginning and subsequent anniversaries of the Iraq War. The event was sponsored by the Interfaith Coalition for Peace and Justice.
He spoke once again about the neoconservatives and their quest for American global domination. The neocons became the dominant foreign policy faction in the Republican Party during the mid-1990s and continue to be so to this day, he said.

Muslim Brotherhood-Infiltrated ‘Paulistinians’ and the Neocon War Machine
No more sugar-coating it. The Emperor has no clothes! We’ve been sold out. The Constitution is in ribbons. The lies of those who have exploited War Fever & Patriotism continue coming to light. The propaganda war machine has convinced the GOP electorate that they must fund both sides of wars in foreign nations. They have convinced Republican voters that a voluntary Army means we soldiers like War and wouldn’t do multiple deployments if we didn’t believe in the mission (whatever it is today). The establishment has succeeded in influencing people to spread ‘democracy’ with the barrel of a gun instead of prosperity with friendly trade.
Now, yours truly, has been accused of being infiltrated by the Muslim Brotherhood and was labeled a “Paulistinian” by Republican establishment types at a recent straw poll. With people hanging out at Republican events talking about how we should watch out for the Sharia boogeyman around every corner, I have to wonder what the hell is wrong with these people who used to believe in freedom of religion. Do Christians like it when labeled as wanting to replace the Constitutional Republic with a theocracy? Muslim Americans serve in the United States military just like people from a plethora of various faiths.

The Neocon GOP: By Design or Default?
With 44,000 U.S. troops in Iraq and another 94,000 in Afghanistan, and with powerful events shaking the international system in the Middle East, Asia and Europe, one might think that the race for the Republican presidential nomination would spawn plenty of discussion and debate on the state of the world and America’s role in it. But no such discourse has emerged. There hasn’t been much engagement on foreign-policy issues.
Still, based on the candidates’ occasional pronouncements and proposals on their websites, we can discern in general where the Republican party stands on foreign policy. A National Interest review of those pronouncements and prescriptions indicates the party isn’t likely to move far beyond the foreign policy of George W. Bush.
